PixClear™ is a
client-only image enhancement library that significantly
reduces image imperfections commonly found in pictures
taken with camera phones such as:
1. The effect known as “vignetting” (or “light
fall-off”), which makes the corners of a picture
look darker than its center;
2. Optical distortion, which can make straight lines in
images appear bent or stretched;
3. Very low contrast, a condition often met in camera
phones, especially in back-lighting conditions.
Enhancing images on-the-spot (automatically or at will)
enhances camera phone usage satisfaction and increases
the sending and sharing of mobile images between users.
Designed to be embedded into handsets, PixClear is primarily
targeted at camera phone vendors and manufacturers.
